Seattle
The cities of this vibrant region are rethinking urban mobility as economic growth and major infrastructure projects begin to drastically change where and how their citizens get around.
Since the mid-2000’s, when he served as the lead planner on the first Seattle Transit Plan as a Partner with Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Jarrett Walker has been helping cities in the Seattle region articulate their own municipal visions for transit.
In 2013 and 2014, Jarrett Walker + Associates was commissioned by the City of Bellevue to lead development of the Service Element of the Transit Master Plan (and, later, to work on the Capital Element, through the Transpo Group). This involved the development of future network scenarios integrating bus service into a planned light rail line.
In 2015, Jarrett Walker + Associates was retained by the neighboring City of Redmond to develop a similar set of scenarios, again anticipating changes to the transit network necessitated by future major infrastructure investments and local population growth.
