Dublin
A dense, compact, transit-oriented metropolitan region with no underground metro and less rail service than most European cities of its size, most of Dublin is on buses, and the buses must succeed for the city to succeed.
Jarrett Walker + Associates (JWA) led the redesign of the bus network in Dublin, Ireland from 2017 to 2019. Dublin was the first Irish city to have a network redesign, as part of the National Transport Authority’s (NTA) nationwide bus improvement project, which includes bus priority, cycle lanes, improved passenger facilities, and new vehicles. Subsequently the program has moved on to Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford, with JWA leading the bus network redesigns for each city in turn.
